The U.S. military confirmed on Saturday the arrival of American B-52 bombers in the Middle East, following an announcement of their deployment aimed at sending a clear message to Iran.

The strategic B-52 Stratofortress bombers, part of the 5th Bomb Wing from Minot Air Force Base, have entered the area of responsibility for U.S. Central Command, which oversees military operations across the Middle East and surrounding regions.

On Friday, the Pentagon disclosed plans to send not only the bombers but also fighter jets, tanker aircraft, and ballistic missile defense destroyers to bolster security in the region.

Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder emphasized that the U.S. is prepared to respond decisively if Iran or its allied forces attempt to target American personnel or interests in the area.
